Are you interested in either entrepreneurship or solving real-world problems? For 5 days this summer, over 70 students from across the state will attend the 40th Business Horizons program. This action-packed week consists of career exploration, tours of prominent Iowa companies, on-campus independent living experiences, and engaging leadership development activities. Students team up to create a product or service to solve a real-world problem, and throughout the week, each team develops a business and competes in unique team challenges like investor pitches and creative infomercials. The purpose of this workshop is to provide an overview of the program, describe the week’s activities, and conclude with an interactive Q&A. In this workshop, attendees will participate in a hands-on, innovation simulation involving the creation of their very own phone app. The workshop is designed to provide a small glimpse into the larger picture of how the Business Horizons program is applicable to any student and all career interests.
